βI am highly organized, professional and analytical person who has the right qualities, attributes and temperament to become a competent pilot with your airline. I fully understand and acknowledge that, with the role of a pilot, comes a huge amount of responsibility, and the experiences I have gained in life so far, coupled with my strong work ethics and dedication, make me the perfect candidate for this position. I want to become a pilot with your airline because, having researched your history and your future plans, you are clearly an airline who has a strong reputation amongst your passengers and I feel I would be supported in the role to enable me to carry out my duties to the high standards required.”
SUGGESTED ANSWER
βThe qualities needed to be a competent pilot are numerous and varied. In particular, a pilot needs an ability to remain calm under extreme pressure; the ability to follow rules and procedures and also take responsibility when things go wrong; strong communication skills and an ability to adapt your communication style to suite the audience and the situation; the desire to continually learn, improve and develop; strong team working skills; an ability to concentrate for long periods of time; a passion for delivering strong customer service skills whilst representing the airline you are working for, and also the understanding that you have to act as a positive role model for the airline at all times. In essence, your actions whilst working as a pilot can have an impact on whether or not passengers return to the airline for future travel plans when needed. This is particularly important because the airline, and your employment as a pilot, relies heavily on passengers returning time and time again.”
