Hospital Receptionist Job Description


Hospital Receptionists are required to ensure the smooth running of the hospital reception area and include duties such as welcoming and greeting patient’s and visitors to the hospital, managing and booking patient appointments, liaising with medical staff, doctors and nurses and also directing patients to the relevant section or department of the hospital. You will also be required to communicate effectively with all visitors to the reception area both during the day and night, and also be prepared to work unsociable hours and weekend’s due to the fact the hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. You will also be required to uphold and adhere to the hospital trust’s values, code of conduct and the patient care charter. Whilst dealing with patient’s and visitors, you will need to remain resilient and confident and provide an exceptional and friendly level service at all times.
