The job of a cleaner, whilst simple, is highly responsible. You will have numerous duties and responsibilities and you will need to make sure your work is to a high standard, at a fast pace and also in line with the cleanliness policies of your employer. The following list of duties are included within all cleaning and housekeeping roles:
- Ensuring all rooms, offices and common areas you are responsible for are cleaned regularly to a consistent standard;
- Completing all of your cleaning duties within a set timeframe as requested by the Housekeeping or Cleaning Manager;
- Ensuring your cleaning materials and fluids are kept stocked up to the necessary standards;
- Liaising with the cleaning quality assessor to ensure standards of cleanliness are maintained;
- Working collaboratively with other cleaners on larger projects;
- Liaising with the owner of the building or the property you are responsible fo to ensure they are satisfied with your cleaning duties;
- Following all COSHH regulations (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) in respect of cleaning fluids wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment when required;
- Ensuring all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to and also putting out warning and hazard signs whist carrying out your cleaning duties.
