You require keen ANALYTICAL skills and an ability to dissect information and data to help you achieve the key requirements of your plan based on risk versus benefits. An ability to BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS with both internal team members and project managers is a must, as, without these relationships, you will be constantly struggling. An ability to WORK COLLABORATIVELY with external stakeholders is also vital. You need to be capable of utilizing outstanding PROJECT MANAGEMENT skills and an understanding of the project life cycle, as, without these, you will not be able to achieve your objectives. You must be able to MULTI-TASK and manage numerous projects and tasks all at once. As a Business Analyst, you cannot function competently without numerous and vast projects on the go all at once, and finally, a strong ability to follow PROCESSES and SYSTEMS and encourage organizational departments to do the same. A successful business requires systems and processes, and this is one thing I will look to develop in my role as your Business Analyst, if successful.”

Business Analyst Job Description, Qualities And Attributes


The role of a Business Analyst includes an ability to plan, identify problems and opportunities, increase market opportunities and also assist the senior management team and Directors in their business growth and development plans.

  • Liaise with key senior managers, Directors and stakeholders to gather and disseminate information that will help you define the key objectives of the organization.

  • Hold company and organizational departments accountable for your business plan key objectives, obtaining regular updates on progress so you can report back to the senior management team.
  • Challenge predetermined organizational beliefs and instill values, systems and processes aimed specifically at achieving the organizational growth and business development plan.
  • Understand and establish the technical vision of the organization and define how you own business development plan will align with this.
  • Be the key point of contact and liaison between core organizational departments, driving them all to meet the objectives of your plan.
  • Communication and liaising with key external stakeholders utilizing a collaborative and inclusive approach to working.
  • Meeting with company project managers to ensure the vision is consistent, clear and defined.
  • Defining and utilizing the project life cycle when required to ensure projects are met on time, and to specification.
  • Being a key problem-solver and decision-maker, often meeting with the strategic management team to make them aware of any potential problems and the resources needed to overcome them.

You will need a resilient and confident approach to your work as a Business Analyst and also demonstrate effective project management skills at every stage of your work.

5 TIPS FOR PASSING THE BUSINESS ANALYST INTERVIEW!
