1. Show Clinical Judgement — Not Just Knowledge

Panels are rarely testing whether you can recite guidelines. They want to see how you think. When answering clinical or scenario-based questions:

• Talk through your reasoning clearly.
• Acknowledge uncertainty when appropriate.
• Explain why you would prioritise certain actions.
• Demonstrate awareness of patient safety.

For example, in an emergency scenario, don’t jump straight to a diagnosis. Start with structured priorities: assessment, stabilisation, escalation. Speak calmly. Show that you understand when to involve seniors. Safe decision-making is more impressive than overconfidence.

2. Demonstrate Emotional Intelligence

Medicine is as much about people as it is about pathology. You will almost certainly be asked about:
