β€œDuring the first 4 weeks of being in position, I would concentrate on four specific areas. These are: Briefing, Clarity, Planning and Execution. During the briefing stage, I would gain a thorough understanding of what needs to be changed and also a thorough assessment of where the organization is right now, in respect of its particular strengths and weaknesses. I would then gain clarity of vision in regard to the direction we needed to take the organization. This would involve an assessment of the key organizational members who are both likely to support the change process, and those who are likely to reject it. With regards to planning, I would create a robust plan before communicating it to everyone within the organization and also setting the defined core objectives that everyone would be required to sign up to. At the end of the initial 4-week period within the role, I would commence the execution stage of the process, where we would all start working towards the delivery of the change that was needed. It would then be down to me to inspire, motivate and lead the organization towards the end goal.”
